Dare to Trust: LILAK and Budkinon Tribal Youth Ambassadors' sari-sari store

Bukidnon Tribal Youth Ambassadors (BTYA) is an Indigenous Youth-Led organization that is passionately committed to advocating for the development and empowerment of Indigenous youth and indigenous young women in their province. While BTYA-members work voluntarily and from the bottom of our hearts, it is a reality that their projects and programs also require resources, particularly funding.

As community organizers, they needed to find a sustainable solution for this problem. That is why they decided to start a small sari-sari (convenience) store, with the help of Both ENDS-partner LILAK. This not only provided them with income, but also helped the members of BTYA to stay in regular contact with other indigenous peoples from their communities.

Creative report: Photo essay

The sari-sari store was made possible within our Dare to Trust-project, a no-strings-attached way of funding. The only administrative duty was to send a creative report about the activities. LILAK send this photo essay to report back on the sari-sari store.
